In Japan, baseball gloves are broadly designed for two types of baseball: hard-ball baseball and rubber-ball (soft-ball) baseball.

Japanese rubber baseballs are surprisingly hard and can feel quite similar to hard baseballs compared with softer recreational balls used in some other countries. This mitt is designed for Japanese rubber-ball baseball, but its durable construction makes it strong enough to be used for hard baseball as well. The slightly softer feel associated with many Japanese rubber-ball gloves can actually make them comfortable and easy to use, while still offering the quality and durability expected from a premium Rawlings glove. For overseas players, this provides an appealing combination of premium Heart of the Hide leather, durable construction, and a slightly softer, user-friendly feel. Series: Heart of the Hide.

Use: Japanese Rubber Baseball / Softball. Hard Baseball: Durable enough for hard baseball use.
